Unlike most companies, we do not charge extra for weekends or holidays.

The Hourly Rate is determined based on the number of movers and trucks required. Unlike most moving companies, we do not send additional men unless needed or requested. For many local moves, we use two men, but we recommend a three- or four-man crew when moving to or from a third, fourth, or fifth floor walk-up. Work time starts when the crew arrives at your pick-up location. Work time stops when the goods are unloaded at the drop-off location and the crew is ready to leave. Travel Time is added to work time and is applied to compensate for the time it takes the crew to come to your pick-up location and then to return after the move is done. For local job travel time ranges from a half hour to an hour, no matter where the pick-up and drop-off locations are, as long as they are in the Local Zone. The Local Zone covers all of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and most of Staten Island and the Bronx.

Flat/Binding Rates

We also offer flat- or binding-rates. In order for us to provide you with flat-rate estimate, a moving consultant will come to your home or business to do a free, in-home estimate.

Valuation

Valuation that covers your belongings at $0.60 per pound per article is automatically included at no extra charge. This is a policy from the Department of Transportation and applies to every local move. Additional coverage is available at your request for an additional charge. Please notify us if you have any items of extraordinary value.

Certificates of Insurance are also available for buildings that require them, which many NYC buildings do. Please check with your building management to see if they require a certificate, and let your moving consultant know so we can take care of it before the day of the move.
